"Every book, has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens."
~ Carlos Ruiz Zafón

Peeking ahead to the discussion for tomorrow, this scene spoke to me and with the quote above, I think about what this scene meant to LP. And how the evolution of the relationship between father and son was inspired.

  1. Lovely way of thinking about how our reading and discussions really connect and create a community even among people who are physically miles apart.

This is one of a number of scenes that spoke to me but the similarity across all of them is their ability to tap into genuine and deeply felt emotional experience, of about the centrality of our relationships.

Thanks for this starting point, Katherine!
