"They're always waiting for you there"
Oil, canvas 30Ñ…40 cm
Artist Mishel Alekyan, Armenia

I saw this and a certain setting from the books came to mind. I won't name it just yet because I wonder … does any particular place come to your mind when you look at this beautiful painting?

    1. That’s what came to mind for me, too, Mei Lan. But then the overall feeling was that in a broader sense, it could be any of the Three Pines homes or shops, “always waiting for you there.” It seems a place-specific picture on the one hand, but has a more general emotional impact to it as well. Another lovely picture — thanks, Katherine! I love that texture on the canvas!

      1. For me, it was that isolated, cold feeling that Blanc-Sablon gave me, so it was the Rousseau residence with Gamache outside, wondering if he was going to get shot.

I love how art is a different experience for everyone and it’s interesting to me to learn how different it is, and why there are those differences. A little more digging into human psyche, I guess. I love the texture too Susan! That’s one of my favourite aspects about oil paintings.
