I’ve just discovered a series of videos interviewing Louise Penny about Michael, writing while caring for him and navigating his dementia diagnosis. She speaks about grief, challenges, hope, and inspiration. I watched them and thought you all might be interested. I applaud her for sharing and trying to help others in similar situations and going through similar journeys.

Edit to add thanks to BCF for embedding the videos here!

  1. Katherine thank you for sharing these videos. I am grateful that LP put herself out there and talked so openly about this situation. While most of it absolutely gutted me, I could relate so much to it, as I was a caregiver for my father who had dementia, and what she says rings so true in so many ways to me. I’m sure it does to others, too. I appreciate her honesty and sharing; it is a much appreciated gift of healing and understanding. It helps to hear it. Thanks for providing this opportunity!

    1. You’ve very welcome Susan. I love that we can share thoughts and information here on BCF and somehow positively impact a friend here even in the smallest way. I feel exactly the same about these videos. I found them extremely moving and I am so grateful for LP’s generosity in sharing.

And I’m so sorry Susan for the loss of your father, and the difficult journey you both had to endure. Sending you a big hug.
