A little nod to The Searcher discussion. A guide with some details on how to differentiate crows, although you can probably take one look and see that these are all "clearly totally different".

  1. Crows are so very smart and take care of each other. They are fascinating birds. They always alert each other if there is danger around – I’ve seen them warn each other about raccoons nearby to keep them from stealing their eggs, and dive bomb bald eagles to drive them away. Once, I observed them having a funeral of sorts. One day, I heard a whole group of them cawing all together. It wasn’t a caw I had heard before so I went to look at was going on and there were about 30 of them perched above on an electrical wire and looking down below. Some were on the ground gathered in a circle around a crow laying on the grass, dead. The crows cawed loudly but not in a panic and it went on for quite a while. When they were finished they flew away. I really do think they were saying goodbye to it. And just like Cal in The Searcher I’ve heard of people who’ve befriended them and receive gifts in return. I’m sure they also mock humans in their own way like Cal imagines.
