There are some very Irish things mentioned in The Searcher and one of them that caught my attention was the odd cookies that Mart likes. I was curious about Mikados, the biscuits described as puffy pink marshmallows with jam that Cal keeps getting from Noreen, so I looked them up. Apparently, the treats are made by Jacobs, an Irish cookie maker. I also found a video of the recipe on how to make them from scratch. They sound very sweet. I think I would have to pair them with tea!
