In light of our connection to wolves through our beloved Louise Penny, I would like to share this interesting wolf tidbit which I read this morning.

“The she-wolf has the habit of wrapping herself around the neck of her partner wolf because the neck is the most vulnerable part of the animal. By doing so, she shows him her unconditional love. For ethologists: Wolves are the most loyal and loving animals: they have only one partner throughout their life. The wolf is known to have an almost extraordinary tenderness and affection towards his she-wolf.” (Zephyr Orion)

The very apt accompanying photo below is by Stephanie Brown Photography. It makes me ponder the future possibilities and connections between the Grey Wolf and the Black Wolf of the novels!

  1. Ooh! Now that is interesting! Makes me a little impatient for The Black Wolf now. I can’t wait to see how the black and grey interact and the relationships and choices within that will be revealed. Thank you for sharing – my imagination has now taken flight!

  2. Interesting and lovely. I had no idea, but the image is fantastic. A great capture displaying a sweet moment. Trust and loyalty are interesting in how fragile they can be sometimes and how they can be blindingly strong in other situations.
