What You Can Do For The Resistance
Stay positive and support the resistance.
Review the general guide first.
Share good sources of information: Our knowledge base links to a large number of books, official sites and resources. Take part in our online movement – a tap after a tap after a tap is power.
Don’t overlook the state and local level.
- Get involved with political and charitable organizations in your community.
- Support local advocacy groups working on issues that matter to you.
- Protesting, marching, striking. Take action if you can, when you can. Crowd sizes matter and every person counts. Here is a guide with your rights to protest by ACLU.
At the national level, if you’re politically active:
- Work on House and Senate races—not just presidential elections.
- Call, email, or write letters to your representatives. They pay attention to public opinion, and if you care about an issue, make sure your voice is heard.
If you can, donate to candidates or advocacy groups that align with your values. Many of them also need volunteers.
There are countless lawsuits challenging actions taken by this administration. Many of these lawsuits are brought by advocacy groups like:
- ICAP (Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection) at Georgetown Law
- The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union)
- If you’re interested, here’s what you can do:
- Look at these lawsuits.
- Find out who is bringing the case—usually, their names are on the last page of the filing.
- Go to their websites, learn about their work, and if you support their mission, donate or volunteer.
Know your rights and share your rights with others. Here is a guide to the United States Constitution.
Your voice matters.
Even when it feels like no one is listening, they are. Those in power want to give you that impression to discourage you into submission. Do not fall for that trick. Resist.
Every action makes a difference. There is no action too small. Even just encouraging and supporting those who are more active, is being active and participating. Do not stay neutral.

There are also local decisions that you can influence. Here in BC, it would be wonderful to see a barrage of messages from BC residents contacting BC Ferries to tell them not to go ahead with their Starlink contract.
Here’s the latest news : https://cheknews.ca/bc-ferries-holds-onto-starlink-contract-despite-u-s-tariffs-says-discussions-ongoing-1241804/
Here’s how to contact BC Ferries and give them feedback: https://feedback.bcferries.com/collection/collection.aspx?cguid=dce-586337eaf0d5&cType=1
Here are some points you could use for your comments:
Subject: Concern Over BC Ferries’ Starlink Contract
BC Ferries should reconsider its Starlink contract due to U.S. tariffs negatively impacting Canadian businesses.
Ontario has already canceled its $100M Starlink contract to protest these unfair trade practices.
Continuing this partnership supports a U.S. company over potential Canadian alternatives.
Starlink is owned by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, whose business and political actions often raise concerns.
BC Ferries should prioritize providers that align with Canada’s values and economic interests.
Exploring Canadian or alternative providers keeps revenue within our economy.
Thank you for considering this important issue.
Sincerely, [Your Name]
