There are four books in Elizabeth George’s young adult Whidbey Island Saga. A departure from the author’s adult crime fiction, the books follow teenager Becca King, who is drawn into the strange happenings on Whidbey Island in Washington State. Becca harbours a dark secret from her past, which prompted her to flee to the island and assume a new identity. There, she uncovers new secrets, finds romance, and discovers her own paranormal powers.

The books blend mystery, romance, myth, and suspense to create an appealing young adult series. Continuity in plot lines and character developments from book to book makes reading them in order important, and the stories culminate in the final book in the series.
