The Jacqueline Kirby series features the adventures of a librarian-turned-amateur detective who solves crimes with a literary bent. Similar to Elizabeth Peters’ other fictional heroines, Kirby is witty, resourceful, and independent.

Less well known than the Amelia Peabody and Vicky Bliss series, some fans enjoy the Kirby books and wish Peters had written more. Other fans think the books don’t quite have the same spark as her other romance suspense books. But the books are still a fun, light read.

There are four books in the Jacqueline Kirby series. It’s not strictly necessary to read the books in order, but because of a continuing plotline, Die for Love (Book 3) should be read before Naked Once More (Book 4).
