Stephen King and Richard Chizmar co-wrote the Gwendy’s Button Box Trilogy, supernatural thriller novellas set in Castle Rock, Maine, featuring Gwendy Peterson. The series begins in 1974, with 12-year-old Gwendy receiving a mysterious button box. The second book, Gwendy’s Magic Feather, is written solely by Chizmar and finds Gwendy as a happily married 37-year-old when the button box reenters her life. King returns for the third and final book, Gwendy’s Final Task, where Gwendy is now in her 60s.

Readers strongly recommend reading the series in order to fully understand the trajectory of Gwendy’s life and follow the serialized story within the three books.
