Arthur Rackham's illustrations always delight me because of the fairies living under the gnarled trunks of trees. This illustration is from Peter Pan.

Love this type of art work too. There’s quite a story being told in this picture. The antique little girl in me always comes to life when fairies are depicted in art.
For me as well. I loved the stories of the “little people” I was told when I was a child and was enchanted by the the fairie pictures and folklore. Rackham’s especially, so much so I visited the Victoria and Albert Museum in London where I also saw some of the original Winnie the Pooh drawings too. Highly recommend going for anyone who loves the classic illustrated books although I’m not sure if they are on display any more (I went a long time ago).
