Amy Stewart

Amy Stewart is the bestselling author of several nonfiction titles about the natural world, including The Tree Collectors, The Drunken Botanist, Wicked Plants, and Earth Moved. She also authors the Kopp Sisters mystery books, a historical crime series based on the true story of the fascinating Constance Kopp and her sisters, Norma and Fleurette.

Amy grew up in Arlington, Texas, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology and a Master’s in Community and Regional Planning (MSCRP) from the University of Texas at Austin. Her first book, From the Ground Up, chronicles the adventures with her first garden. When she’s not writing, she is painting and drawing, and she has illustrated several of her books. Amy’s books have sold millions of copies worldwide. Her award-winning book The Drunken Botanist recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.

Amy currently lives in Portland with her husband, Scott Brown, who runs the antiquarian bookstore. Her most recent work, The Tree Collectors, explores the world of people who spend their lives pursuing and preserving priceless trees.
