I think of myself as a fairly open and flexible person; I like to travel, to try new foods and engage in different activities and projects. But those are the things I choose. The bruises come from the changes I did not choose or maybe even anticipate. Kind of a challenge to be inspired in those circumstances.

There’s a learning curve to almost everything new we encounter in life. How steep that curve is depends on the change in question. The steeper the curve the greater the bruising.
