Janet Quin-Harkin is best known for her mystery novels written under her pen name Rhys Bowen. Prior to writing her popular adult historical fiction books and mystery series, Quin-Harkin wrote several bestselling children’s books and young adult novels, including the family saga The Sutcliffe Diamonds. Starting in 1981, she wrote several books in Bantam’s Sweet Dreams series. Her series, The Boyfriend Club, chronicles the friendships of four high school students and is still in print, as is her Heartbreak Café series, which follows the life of a California teenage girl after her parents’ divorce. In the 1990s, Quin-Harkin began writing mystery novels as Rhys Bowen, including the bestselling Her Royal Spyness and Molly Murphy series.
