Katie Tallo

Katie Tallo is a Canadian author of crime fiction. She grew up in Ottawa and loved movies, theatre, and dreaming up plays for her friends to act out. She went on to study English, Film Studies, and Television Broadcasting and began working as a screenwriter and director, working on projects in film, television, and animation. Her films have screened at film festivals across North America.

In 2013, Katie wrote a manuscript entitled Gone Monday, which won top prize in the international Mslexia Women’s Novel Writing Competition. Encouraged, she began writing another manuscript, which would become her first published novel. Dark August was published in 2020 and became an international bestseller. She has written two more books in the trilogy (Poison Lilies and Buried Road). Katie continues to work in video production as a script writer and director when she’s not writing novels.

Katie is married and lives with her husband in the Wellington West neighbourhood of Ottawa, where her trilogy is set. She is currently working on a new mystery thriller.
