Kerry Greenwood has written in a number of different genres, including fantasy, true crime, romance, young adult fiction, children’s fiction, and crime fiction. Her most enduring creation is the memorable Phryne Fisher, the daring and adventurous amateur sleuth solving crimes in Australia in the 1920s.

Kerry envisioned the fictional character along the lines of James Bond and Emma Peel. She says, “Phryne is a hero, just like James Bond or the Saint, but with fewer product endorsements and a better class of lovers.” She only intended to write just two books but has written twenty-two so far and says she will continue to write stories about the independent, feisty heroine as long as people want to read them.
