Angeline Boulley’s Firekeeper’s Daughter series are crime fiction thrillers aimed at Young Adult readers but are enjoyable for readers of all ages. The thrillers are set on Sugar Island in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

  Firekeeper’s Daughter follows 18-year-old Daunis Fontaine as she helps the FBI investigate a lethal new drug affecting her community. Warrior Girl Unearthed is also a high-stakes thriller but features a different principal protagonist. Perry Firekeeper-Birch investigates several mysteries affecting her Anishinaabe tribe.

Both novels are set on Sugar Island among the Anishinaabe and have a wonderful mysteries, well-developed characters, appealing coming-of-age stories, and insightful exploration of contemporary issues that keep readers engaged.
