The Constable Evans series is Rhy Bowen’s first mystery series and is set in the fictional Welsh village of Llanfair, where the amiable Evan Evans is the detective of the town filled with quirky but lovable characters.

Fans love the books for the sense of humour and charm that Rhys brings to the cozy mysteries. She has a wonderful ear for dialogue and describes Llanfair’s Snowdonia mountain setting vividly because she has Welsh family and frequently visited a little village much like Llanfair in her youth. (In fact, Rhys Bowen is her grandfather’s name.)

The majority of fans recommend reading Constable Evans in order to fully enjoy the lives of the characters as they evolve over the course of the nine books in the series.
