“It’s what happens when gullibility and fear meet greed and power”
This line is so apropos for what is happening right now, and has happened in the past. History repeats. We are meant to study the past to learn our lessons and make future outcomes better than past. But what is better for some is not the same for all, and those who are greedy and hold power most certainly have a different definition of better than those who hold no power at all. What can we do to make our lives better? What has been done in the past?
Louise’s books are political and social commentaries that lay these issues out. We readers are hopefully thoughtful and, as someone commented on a post earlier, not just hope for change, but take action, when necessary. If we fail to take action, then the point of thoughtful literature, education and lessons of the past is completely lost.
