I am about 3/4 through this book and I know I will be giving it a great rating! A budding artist in Europe during WWII leaves her newborn baby boy to the fates. The man who finds him also trusts the baby to strangers as he is fighting in the war. He is compelled later in his life to find out what happened to this child…and he forges an alliance with a young woman (who has also made the difficult decision to put her child up for adoption) to go back to Europe and find this child—now a man. I am enjoying both the story of the lost child and the story of the young woman who is determined to find her own way in the world.
