This is pretty funny, but it's also quite true in many ways. People can be quite difficult to please and some seem prone to the negative.

For example if you apply it to rating books, readers can be so critical. One bad rating or review takes several high ratings and review to counter balance the bad. Do you ever look at star ratings or reviews when deciding on a new author or book to read? How do the ratings/reviews affect your decision to read?

  1. I have never relied on star ratings to choose a new author or book but I say this with 100% accuracy, I have never read a new author or reread one who was recommended or cited by someone on Book Club Friends and regretted my decision.

  2. I rely on recommendations from other people who share the same reading interests as I do. Everyone has their own criteria for how they assign stars to books. If you don’t know their criteria you really don’t know what about the book determined the star rating.
