Jane Dotchin, an 82-year-old woman from Hexham in Northumberland, England, has been making a 965-kilometre journey to Inverness, Scotland, every autumn since 1972 on her 13-year-old horse Diamond. This annual adventure lasts about seven weeks, while Jane covers between 24 and 32 kilometers a day. She carries all the essentials, including a tent, food, and basic utensils, and is accompanied by her dog Dinky, a Jack Russell Terrier with deformed front legs who travels in the horse's saddlebags.

Jane relies on a simple diet that includes porridge, oatmeal cookies, and cheese. She uses an old mobile phone with a battery that lasts six weeks, although the signal is often weak in remote areas.During her travels, she visits friends she has made over the years and enjoys the beauty of the Scottish countryside.

Despite impaired vision and an eye patch, Jane has continued this tradition for more than 50 years, showing exceptional perseverance and a deep love of nature. Her story inspires many, while she herself plans to continue these journeys for as long as possible.
